Stickora Notes

stickora-notes · v1.0
📅 Last updated: May 18, 2026 🔒 Chrome Extension – Zero data collection

Stickora does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal user data.
All sticky notes and extension data are stored locally in the user’s browser using Chrome storage APIs. No information is sent to external servers.
The extension only accesses webpage URLs and page context necessary to display website-specific sticky notes and maintain functionality.
Stickora does not use analytics, tracking scripts, advertising systems, or third-party data sharing services.
Users fully control their stored notes and may export or delete them at any time.

📋 Your privacy, by design

Stickora Notes (also referenced as stickora-notes) is a lightweight Chrome extension built with one principle: absolute privacy. No cloud, no telemetry, no hidden trackers. Every note you write stays inside your browser — always.

📌 Local storage & data ownership

All sticky notes, positions, and associated metadata are saved using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API. This means:

  • No external servers: Zero data packets leave your device.
  • Device-bound only: Notes are not synced across devices unless your browser profile syncs them (Chrome sync is optional and not initiated by the extension).
  • Full user control: You can review, edit, export, or delete notes anytime via the extension interface or by clearing browser storage.
  • No account or login: We never ask for an email, name, or any personal identifier.

🌐 Permissions & webpage context

To provide per‑website sticky notes (notes that reappear when you revisit a specific page), Stickora Notes requires access to:

  • 🔍 Current webpage URL – to save and retrieve notes relevant to that exact page or domain.
  • 📄 Limited page context – only to associate notes correctly and maintain core note‑display functionality.

Important: This information is processed locally and instantly discarded — never transmitted, logged, or shared. The extension does not read form inputs, passwords, or any sensitive data. No browsing history is recorded outside of what’s needed to match notes to the current URL.

🛡️ Zero third-party requests — no CDNs, fonts, analytics, or advertising pixels are loaded by Stickora Notes. Every resource is local to the extension.

🧾 What we DO NOT collect (explicit list)

  • Personal information (name, email, IP address, location).
  • Browsing history or visited URLs (except contextual on-page matching, never stored remotely).
  • Usage statistics, click events, or crash reports (no analytics).
  • Sticky note content – your notes are never sent anywhere.
  • Cookies, fingerprinting identifiers, or cross-site tracking data.

⚙️ Your rights & data control

Because all data is stored locally in your browser, you retain absolute ownership. You can:

  • 📤 Export your notes — using the built‑in export tool (JSON format).
  • 🗑️ Delete individual notes or clear all extension data via Chrome’s extension settings.
  • 🚫 Revoke permissions at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Note: Since no personal data leaves your device, there is no “right to erasure” request needed — you are the sole controller of all note data.

🔐 Children’s privacy & compliance

Stickora Notes does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The extension has no registration, no user profiling, and no behavioral tracking. Therefore, it is fully compliant with COPPA, GDPR, and CCPA privacy frameworks.

📞 Contact & questions

If you have any questions, concerns, or require clarification about this privacy policy, please reach out to the developer through the Chrome Web Store listing (publisher contact form). Since Stickora Notes does not collect any personal data, we cannot respond to individualized data access requests — but we are happy to answer technical and privacy inquiries via the official Chrome Web Store support channel.

📌 Extension name: Stickora Notes (stickora-notes) — Chrome Web Store publisher page provides direct support.

🔗 For verification, you may inspect the extension’s source code or network activity: no outbound requests are ever made to any server other than Chrome’s internal storage API.

GDPR / CCPA notice: Stickora Notes is exempt from standard data subject requests because it processes zero personal data. No “sale” of information — ever. All note content remains under your exclusive control, stored locally within your browser’s extension storage.
